Fire Equipment Operator / EMT

The Wrightsville Beach Fire Department is seeking a highly motivated Fire Equipment Operator/EMT. Responsibilities include driving/operating fire apparatus; performing assigned fire suppression duties, responding to emergency medical calls, maintaining equipment & facilities, participating in training drills, fire prevention activities & assigned departmental projects, preparing reports and maintaining records.

Minimum Qualifications: NC FFII certification; NC EMT-B certification; NC Class B driver’s license; experience driving & operating fire apparatus; proficiency with personnal computer. Pre-employment drug screening, criminal background check, physical examination and physical ability test are required.

Desirable Qualifications: NC Driver/Operator certification; Advanced NC certifications (Fire Officer, Instructor, Inspector, etc.); Associates degree in Fire Science or related field.

Minimum Starting Salary: $31,270 (based on 48-hour workweek) with 5% increase after successful completion of a 6-month probation period.Comprehensive benefit package.
