Building Inspector / Plans Reviewer

Annually: $53,393.60 - $80,121.60

The purpose of this position is to ensure all activity associated through the construction, remodeling, improvement and/or renovation of buildings complies with building codes, guidelines, and regulations by performing detailed plan reviews before the issuance of permits. This is accomplished by reviewing construction plans; interacting and working with contractors, engineers, home owners and other inspectors. Other duties include conducting field construction inspections and other specialized inspections as needed to enforce the Building Codes, maintaining records, obtaining yearly mandatory continuing education credits, speaking to audiences regarding code matters, issuing certificates of occupancy, inspection of damaged buildings for Non-residential code enforcement or condemnation.
