The Northern Wake Fire Department is accepting applications for the position of Firefighter.

Application Deadline:   June 29, 2018 @ 5:00pm 

Two different work schedules are available, rotating 24-Hour Shift and 12-Hour Daytime Shift.  Work schedule assignments are subject to departmental staffing needs as identified by the Fire Chief. 

Educational Requirements:  Minimum of a high school diploma or GED.  Associates or Bachelors’ degree preferred.

Experience Requirements:  Experience in a volunteer or combination fire department preferred.

The position of Firefighter  requires the employee to play a multi-functional role.  This role encompasses the many responsibilities required on an emergency scene, as well as the daily tasks of maintaining a fire station and the affiliated equipment.  These responsibilities include but are not limited to: emergency and non-emergency response to Fire, EMS, Rescue, and other requests for service; facilities and equipment maintenance; pre-fire planning; public fire education; district information maintenance; and other duties as specified by the Fire Chief and/or Immediate Supervisor.
