FULL-TIME ASSISTANT FIRE CHIEF OF BEACH PATROL AND COMMUNITY RISK REDUCTION

This position performs supervisory work and assists the Fire Chief and the Assistant Chief in the overall operation of the Fire Department, Beach Patrol, and Community Risk Reduction (CRR).  In the absence of the Fire Chief and the Assistant Chief, the Assistant Chief of Beach Patrol/CRR will direct Fire Department Operations. Under general direction, performs administrative and other fire department activities as required.  

This position will work 40 hours per week, nights and weekends as needed, and will be on emergency call. Minimum starting annual pay: $53,223 DOQ.  Excellent health benefits and retirement.

Essay questions will be emailed to candidates meeting minimum qualifications on July 15, 2019.  Candidates moving forward in the process will have a panel interview, fire and EMS assessment center, and 100-yard swim test scheduled for early August 2019.  Interviews with the Fire Chief and/or his designee(s) will be conducted after the assessments.   

Background check, physical, and conditional offer of employment will be the final steps of the process.
