    Jason,

Do you pay them by hr or a set amount?  Thanks!

Jamie,  at West End Fire Dept.  in Burke County we have a part time program. We started this on July 1, 2001. I have 12 members currently that provide 24/7/365 coverage. We started at 8 hour shifts during the day, then increased to 12 hour night shifts. Within the past few years we went to 12 hour days. Members can work up to 39 hours per week that keeps us out of paying OT. Members have a sign up calender of when they can work or would like to work and I figure it out from there. That's just a brief rundown. Feel free to contact me if you would like to know more.

Does anyone have a system in place for Volunteers to pull shifts whether it be 8 hours, 12 hours, 24 hours, weekly, nightly, daily or anything that resembles a set shift?

At Clarkton Fire we are going to implement something next year and are looking ideas that are set in place and working.

If anyone is willing to share please do.
