Last week, New Hanover County Fire Rescue, in conjunction with the North Carolina Fire and Rescue Instructor’s Conference hosted the ISFSI’s Principles of Modern Fire Attack- SLICE-RS class. The course, designed to bring some of the latest fire dynamic research to fire fighters was derived from studies conducted by UL and NIST.  If you are not familiar with the course, research or studies you can get an overview by visiting this site  http://modernfirebehavior.com.

The purpose of posting this is to see what other fire departments in North Carolina are considering as a result of these studies. I would like to hear from others within the NCAFC that have or are considering changes to initial attack and command priorities. Thanks in advance for your feedback! Stay Safe!
