The 65th Annual North Carolina Fire Prevention School will be held March 16 - 20, 2026 at the Courtyard by Marriott, Carolina Beach. The Fire Prevention School’s philosophy has always been to offer competency-based instruction, whereby, the student is exposed to a broad base of material going beyond the requirements of the fire code. With this in mind, students should not be subjected to a duplication of the certification classes but will receive more in-depth study on related topics. The NC Association of Fire Chiefs, in coordination with NCSFA and OSFM, will be hosting Business Functions for Non-Profit Fire Departments workshops in each region this year. These workshops will be taught by an HR professional, accountant, and an attorney who are subject matter experts in non-profit fire department business functions. The workshop is free for NCAFC members. We expect 50-100 Chief Officers and Board Members at each workshop.
