 Battalion Chief

Minimum requirements for Battalion Chief position:

Seven (7) years of emergency services experience with a minimum of three (3) years of that experience in a supervisory role, or an Associate’s Degree in a public safety discipline with five (5) years of fire service experience with a minimum of two (2) years of the experience in a supervisory role;

• Possession of a valid NC Class B driver’s license;
• Possession of an EMT-B credential;
• Certified NC Firefighter II
• Certified NC Fire Officer Level 1
• Certified NC Fire Instructor Level 1
• NC Driver/Operator Pumps; (NC D/O aerial Operator within one year of employment)
• Certified NC Emergency Vehicle Driver
• NIMS/ICS 100, 200, 300, 400, 700, 800

• NC Chief 101 course completion
• NC Driver/Operator Pumps

·       21 years of age and reside within a 35-mile radius of Fairview Fire Department’s Headquarters

·       ICS 100, 200, 700, 703, 706 and 800 prior to employment start date
