Description: Located in Western North Carolina, in Buncombe County, Riceville Volunteer Fire Department (VFD), Inc. is committed to protecting life, property, and the environment through responsive and professional emergency services, active community participation and support, prevention, education, fire suppression, medical services, hazard mitigation and other related activities. The Riceville VFD serves a population of over 6,000 residents in an approximate 10 square mile radius and responds to approximately 600 fire/rescue and 1,500 EMS calls annually, with a budget of approximately $1.6 million. The department includes 11 full-time employees and a total membership of 53 overall members that are dedicated to protecting the community and responding efficiently and effectively to emergencies. Compensation and benefits: Salary range: $68,000- $75,000. Employee will be eligible for paid vacation, sick leave, paid holidays, health insurance, retirement, and other benefits.
