We are a Class3/9 rated Combination Fire Department located on the eastern side of Buncombe County, 3.5 miles from the VA Medical Center, 15 minutes from downtown Asheville and 10 minutes from I 40 exit 55.  We average 1900 calls a year with 3 Engines, 1 Tanker, 1 Brush Truck, I QRV, 1 Paramedic 911 Ambulance, 1 UTV, and i Utility Truck.  Our district is a bedroom community setting with a section of the Blue Ridge Parkway between Reynolds and Reems Creek.   We have 3 shifts working the Modified LA schedule with OT after 40 hours with 17 weeks a year having built in OT of 32 hours.  We offer health insurance for you and a supplement to add family.   Our Strategic Plan includes adding Volunteer & staff positions, 1 new Class A Pumper, and a new Fire Station.  We offer professional growth through training programs.  Our staff is dedicated tot he Riceville Community and to each other.  If  this is where you see your future, we want to hear from you.  Application packet request may be sent to Chief Tom Kelly via email for immediate response.   chief@ricevillefire.org
