Fire Captain I or II

Type: Full Time

Salary/Pay Rate:$52,612 - $77,207 annually plus excellent benefits

Performs difficult protective work in fire suppression. Serves as company supervisor, overseeing station and equipment maintenance and maintaining records and reports. Acts as interior attack officer during fires and emergencies. Check out the great benefits the City has to offer.

Minimum Qualifications

Fire Captain I
• Combination education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school and seven years’ experience in the fire service, including some supervisory experience;
• Valid Class B driver’s license and good driving record;
• NC Fire Prevention Level I Standard Certificate
• NC Fire Service Instructor Certification;
• One year of municipal experience as a firefighter driver as part of regular job duties; and
• NC/IFSAC Fire Officer I Certification;

Fire Captain II
• Combination education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school and nine years’ experience in the fire service including some supervisory experience;
• Valid Class B driver’s license and good driving record;
• Minimum two years as Fire Captain I or equivalent; and;
• NC/IFSAC Fire Officer II Certification

Work Environment
Modified 24/48 Schedule. Paid bi-weekly.
