The Town of Swansboro Fire Department is hiring for the position of Fire Captain. An employee of this position performs challenging protective service work managing fire, rescue, and emergency medical services on an assigned shift. Assigns staff, oversees, and participates in maintenance, servicing, repairing, and operating apparatus and equipment, continuing training, maintaining reports and records, and related work as apparent or assigned. Continuous supervision is exercised over assigned shift personnel.

The candidate must possess the following or have the reasonable ability to obtain the requirements within twelve (12) months of hire.

➢ Firefighter, IFSAC

➢ North Carolina Emergency Medical Technician

➢ Hazardous Materials Level 1 Responder, IFSAC

➢ NIMS ICS 100, 200, 300, 400, 700, & 800

➢ Driver Operator – Emergency Vehicle Driver, Pumps, & Aerials; IFSAC

➢ Fire Instructor II; IFSAC

➢ Fire Officer II; IFSAC
