The Village of Pinehurst seeks a Fire Chief who will work closely with the Village Manager, the Senior Leadership Team, and staff to lead the operations of the Fire Department. As an integral member of the Senior Leadership Team, this position will oversee and manage departmental matters including suppression, prevention, and medical first response, to protect the lives and property of our residents, businesses, and visitors.

This position supervises two direct reports and 33 indirect reports across two stations and manages a departmental budget of approximately $4 million. The department serves approximately 28 square miles covering the Village, Town of Taylortown and Longleaf rural district.

This position also provides leadership in strategic long and short-range planning and capital projects. Key projects on the horizon for consideration include a ladder truck and a third fire station. The department has been internationally accredited by CFAI since 2016 and has achieved an ISO rating of Class 2 in the Village and Class 3 in areas served outside the Village. The Chief also serves as the Emergency Management liaison with state, federal and local agencies.
