This memo serves as the official announcement for the Davidson Fire Department 2026 Firefighter Engineer hiring process. The fire department is anticipating the need to fill vacant Firefighter Engineer positions. This full-time position will be responsible for the daily operations of driving the assigned fire apparatus. The Firefighter Engineer will be assigned to a specific work shift that will operate on a (24) hour rotating schedule. The Firefighter Engineer will report directly to the on-duty Captain or Battalion Chief.

All eligible current employees of the Davidson Fire Department and external candidates that are interested in competing for this position are encouraged to apply. This is a Grade 202 Classification for the Town of Davidson and is considered an Hourly / Non-Exempt position. The hiring salary range for this position is $57,722 to $60,608. The overall salary range for this position is $57,722 to $86,584.
