The Town of Newport, NC is accepting applications for the position of Fire Chief. 

Applicant should have an Associate Degree in Fire Protection, Emergency Management or related field, Bachelor’s Degree preferred, possess a valid class B NC license, EMS Certificate, Fire Officer II Certificate, and obtain Fire Officer III within 1 year of employment. 

Applicant must have extensive experience in a supervisory position and minimum of 2 years at the company officer level. Knowledge and experience in the operation of a combination municipal fire department required. Must have experience in all aspects of the budgetary process and be able to communicate well in oral and written forms.
