Leland Volunteer Fire/Rescue Department, Inc. is accepting applications for our 2016 hiring pool. This pool of applicants will be used to fill part-time and/or full-time openings that the department may have during the 2016 calendar year. Once the list is created it will be used to fill vacancies in 2016, until all qualified applicants are exhausted. If you applied for the 2015 pool, you will need to re-apply for the 2016 pool.
We currently have several part time positions open.
The applicants shall possess one of the following:
- A) Fire/Rescue Specialist - NC Fire/Rescue Commission Firefighter Certification, Emergency Vehicle Driver, and Hazardous Materials Level I (Operations) and NC Office of EMS Credentials as an EMT or higher. Starting salaries: PT is $12.00/hr, FT is $34,191.
- B) Paramedic - NC Office of EMS credentials as an EMT-Paramedic with the ability to obtain NC Fire/Rescue Commission Firefighter Certification, Emergency Vehicle Driver, and Hazardous Materials Level I (Operations). Starting salaries: PT is $18.00/hr, FT is $43,623.
Starting salary for a full time employee Firefighter Paramedic is $45,981. All FTE’s work a 24/72 schedule and get a full benefits package including paid medical (50% employer paid dependent/spouse coverage), dental, vision, AFLAC, and NCSFA 401K.
All applicants must be able to function independently as described in departmental job descriptions and be boarded (EMS) in Brunswick County in order to be retained for employment. Final salary for all positions will be determined by your qualifications. Please send resumes to:
