The City of Washington Fire-Rescue-EMS Department is seeking qualified applicants for the position of full time Firefighter/EMT for immediate employment. The City of Washington is a municipal fire department operating out of two fire stations. Currently there are two open full-time positions. Candidates are required to have a HS Diploma or equivalent, NC EMT-Basic, valid Driver’s License and acceptable driving record.  North Carolina Firefighter Level I, II & EMT-I and/or EMT-Paramedic certifications are preferred.   Applicant must provide a North Carolina Career Readiness Certificate (CRC) with application.  A CRC can be obtained at most educational institutions such as the local community college.   TESTING REQUIRED: All applicants will be required to pass a physical ability test; complete and pass a medical and psychological exam, undergo a background investigation, oral interviews, and a drug screening.
