Fire Chief

Clinton, pop 8787. Seeking an exp. energetic, innovative leader as fire chief. Visionary with strong track record in comm. involvement and staff development. High level of prof. ethics and integrity. Comb. dept. of 14 full-time career firefighters and 19 part-time paid firefighter positions. Func. as member of mgmt., report to City Manager in Council-Manager form of govt. Resp. for dept. mgmt., encompassing all aspects of municipal fire and rescue safety incl. comm. edu., training, mgmt. func. of staffing, budgeting and purchasing. Job req’s: Assoc. degree in Fire Science and/or Fire Protection, supp. by advanced courses in fire admin. Considerable exp. in the municipal fire service including supervisory experience; or an equivalent comb. of edu. and exp. Level 3 Fire Officer’s Certification, Level 2 Instructor’s Certification and NC Class B Driver’s License. Ability to obtain Level III NC Fire Inspector Certification within designated time. Salary DOQ expected hiring range $59,300-72,000. The City offers a competitive benefits package.
