Piney Grove Fire Rescue Department Inc.

Piney Grove Fire Rescue Department is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Fire Chief.  This is a full-time position managing a combination volunteer, part-time, full-time department.  The position will become available in the spring of 2021 with the retirement of the current chief.

Piney Grove Fire Rescue Department is located in eastern Forsyth County adjacent to Kernersville. The department has six full-time shift positions (2 per shift), a full-time chief position (works Monday through Friday plus on-call after hours, approximately 13 part-time positions and 14 volunteer positions.  The department serves a bedroom area with a population of over 8,000.  It operates two stations responding to just under 500 service request per year (pre Covid-19).  The department operates two engines, one tanker, one light squad and a brush truck.  Currently the department has a ISO Rating of  3/9E (October 2017). The department is tax supported with an operating budget for FY 2020-21 of $907,570.00.
