Good afternoon North Carolina Fire Chiefs both Career and Volunteer. I need your help in a matter. Public Safety Officer Line of Duty Death Benefit, you know what I am talking about. Is there any FD here in NC that has had a line of duty death due to Stroke in which your FF was awarded this benefit. Not the Federal benefit but the state benefit. if so please contact me and let me know please. As I am working with a family of our VFD in which the President / FF died from a stroke following an incident that he was on in July thus passing away in December, never leaving the hospital since the day be went in just about 12-18 hours following the incident he was on the day before.
