I just went back through an EMT class after a short few years out of active service. I took my class through Forsyth Tech and did not have to show proof of COVID vaccination. I did my 48 hours of ride time with Guilford County EMS. I did not have to show any proof of COVID vaccination.

I have much more respect for those that work in any EMS  system now. Things have changed.

    Chief,

I think it is left up to the college and the local medical direction to determine if it is required or a declination form can be utilized.

Does anyone know of an Community College EMT Program where the students do not have to be COVID Vaccinated? The programs in Alamance, Guilford, and Durham are requiring it to do Clinicals. So basically the hospitals are keeping our firefighters from getting EMT certified. Could explain the shortage of applicants these days.

Thanks in advance for any help
