Several of our Departments here in Lee County have purchased our own Kenwood Vipers after looking at the two. We saw from the cost effective side that we can buy 3 Kenwood’s to 2 Motorolas, with the operations and capabilities we several of us chose Kenwood. We use them for landing zones and communicating with our surrounding counties during m/a calls and large scale incidents. Our city / county per se does not have viper we still use vhf/uhf  for 911 unlike the counties around us. No issues with the kenwoods at all here.

We have had the Kenwood radios since 2016 and have not had any issues. Can do updates and changes that do not require a system key with ease.

Good morning, all.  I am looking for agencies who use or have used Kenwood radios on the VIPER system.  In addition to radio performance and ruggedness, I would like to learn about after the sell service experiences, and programming, particularly inhouse programming capabilities.  I would love to hear about your experiences.  Thanks in advance.  Stay safe and have a Merry Christmas.
