Good morning.  I hope everyone is well.  I wanted to take a moment and post that the application process is now open for the fourth cohort of the IAFC Fire Service Executive Development Institute.   I hope that some of you will consider applying.  NC has had a strong presence in the program.   Myself and DC Joy Ponder from Asheville Fire are graduates of the second cohort, and currently in the third cohort is DC Paula McDaniel, Charlotte Fire. 

I found the program to be very beneficial in preparing me to step into the role of Fire Chief.  While I know I still have a lot to learn, I feel leaps and bounds ahead of where I would be had I not attended the program.  The topics and programs presented through FSEDI have laid a good foundation for me as a Fire Chief and of course the networking as always is priceless.  If I had to describe the program in a nutshell, I would say it expands upon EFO and is finishing school for Fire Chiefs.
