At Skyland we have a Training/Safety officer on each shift who is responsible for managing the training for all personnel on the shift and serves as the safety officer for incidents as well as the backup to the Battalion Chief in their absence.

I am looking for information regarding departments that have dedicated Safety Officers, especially those that work 24 hour shifts.  We are looking at the possibility of adding Safety/Training Officers to each shift and would like to discuss this with departments that have them.  You can reply to the thread or email me direct at.  dwillard@toknc.com
