We have purchased ballistic vests for our personnel. We have a vest for every riding position on each apparatus. We did not buy vests for each individual. They are red with white writing "FIRE" on front and back. The vests are adjustable to fit every size person.

Looking for thoughts/ideas for dealing with credible treats to first responders to shooting. Our department has been advised by LEO of threats made against first responders coming to the scene of shootings, by gang members. Other than the normal staging until scene is secure and being hyper vigilant, What steps are departments implanting to aid in the safety of fire & EMS crews.
