    Philip,

Thank you for responding. We are currently working under the 207k rules. I have requested to move over to paid over time. I am looking for verbiage or copy of current sogs that give guidance on when and what is approved to pay out overtime at  1.5 hours for every hour worked.

Are you looking for policies regarding what you’ll allow employees to work over and above their normally scheduled shift, or when and how overtime will be paid? For the latter, FLSA 207(k) exemption lays out what you must do to stay in good standing with the feds. When dealing with approved overtime above your normal shift, we only allow overtime for classes/activities/shift coverage  that are assigned or approved directly from admin or for classes/activities that are a requirement to maintain the minimum requirements of your current job description.

We have started 24 hour shift personnel. Currently or Town is doing comp time. Our Town Board has tentative approved switching to paying out over time. Instead of trying to reinvent the wheel does anyone have a over time policy that they can share with us.
