The NCAFC will be hosting the onsite delivery of educational sessions eligible for the IAFC/CSU Officer Development Program (ODP) at the 2026 Mid-Winter Conference. This is part of the Leadership Development Certification Series for Company Officer entitled Company Officer I & Company Officer II.

This series of sessions offers a valuable opportunity for fire service professionals to enhance their leadership skills while earning college credits. The MWC educational sessions required are listed below, and are also listed on the online conference schedule with the prefix "ODP".  All titled sessions must be completed in there entirety to be eligible for this certification. Please note that some sessions are offered at multiple times, so please check the online conference schedule to plan your attendance. In addition to these MWC sessions, two additional modules are required to be completed online, along with a final exam (multiple choice/unlimited attempts). To participate in this exciting new offering,

The educational sessions required to be completed at Mid-Winter Conference to meet the criteria for Company Officer I & Company Officer II Certification are:

  • May 12th | 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM: Command Like A Pirate (Tactical Fireground Leadership) | Classroom and Practical Exercises (CO I Units 1, 4, 5; CO II Units 1, 4, 5)
  • May 13th | 1:45 PM - 3:00 PM (Pt 1) & 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM (Pt 2): Looking Inward: Strengthening Your FD Through Honest Assessment & Shared Planning (Pt 1 &2 ) (CO I Units 3; CO II Units 3)
  • May 14th | 10:30 AM - 12:00 PMVFIS - Human Resource Issues Affecting Emergency Services (CO I Unit 2; CO II Unit 2)
  • May 14th | 1:00 PM - 2:30 PM: Emergency Management for Fire Officers (CO I Unit 6; CO II Unit 6)
